The "Blind Spots and Buzzwords in Internationalism" workshop was the third event in the "Rethinking Internationalism: Histories and Pluralities" project. Below is a summary of the discussions that took place over the two days, organized under the headings of the six thematic panels. Many of the overarching themes and discussions extended well beyond the bounds of the individual panels.

Building on the previous two events of our ‘Rethinking Internationalism’ network, this online workshop will focus on key absences from these recent discussions on histories of internationalism.

You are invited to attend online as an audience-participant for a series of panel-based discussions on approaches to internationalism’s histories that go beyond the confines of traditional, state, and institution-centred archives in the Global North.

This conference explores ways in which particular internationalist visions have spawned and sustained movements that have subverted predominant discourses, challenged existing power asymmetries or sought to overcome socio-economic inequalities.

A group of PhD students from the Centre for Global History at Free University Berlin and the Institute of African and Asian Studies at Humboldt University of Berlin would like to invite interested doctoral researchers to apply for a workshop on ‘Internationalism in the (long) Twentieth Century’.
